Hawks Plan for Futures Camp

2000, 2001 Birth Year Players Invited to August Session

Youth hockey players eligible for Phase I of the 2016 and 2017 United States Hockey League Drafts will be able to make an impression on Waterloo coaches August 14th through 16th during the Black Hawks 2015 Futures Camp at Young Arena.

Details about the camp were released by the Black Hawks on Wednesday.  Players from across the country who skate during the three-day gathering will participate in several one-hour “mini-games” as well as at least one off-ice training session.  Members of the Waterloo coaching staff, as well as Black Hawks alumni, will direct all weekend activities.

“This is a chance for aspiring junior hockey players to visit our community and see Young Arena; they will be immersed in a great junior hockey atmosphere and have the opportunity to be identified early by our staff as prospects for future USHL seasons,” noted Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O’Handley.

Registration for the Black Hawks 2015 Futures Camp will be accepted immediately.  The $300 camp fee includes all midday and evening meals.  The deadline for receipt of registration materials is Tuesday, July 14th.

Also through July 14th, Futures Camp participants will also be able to make reservations at Black Hawks partner hotels for a limited-time camp rate, subject to availability:
