Hawks Secure Michael Davies

Completes March Deal with Dubuque

The Waterloo Black Hawks have added former Dubuque Fighting Saint Michael Davies to a stable of USHL-experienced defensemen.

In 2014/15, Davies spent his first season in the league, appearing in 52 of 60 regular season games.  The 5-8, 158-pound St. Louis native notched four goals and ten assists.  With a +10 plus/minus differential, Davies ranked third among Dubuque defensemen.  He appeared in four of the Saints’ postseason contests with a +2 mark.  Davies is committed to Ohio State University.

The acquisition completes a pact which sent Hayden Shaw to Dubuque in exchange for Blake Hillman near the USHL trade deadline.

Entering the 2015/16 season, the Waterloo blue line has the potential to be an area of notable strength.  Six players who appeared as defensemen for the Hawks last season could compete for slots on the roster during tryout camps and fall exhibitions.

Season tickets for the 2015/16 home slate at Young Arena are on sale now.  The United States Hockey League schedule for the coming year will be released later this summer.
