Fans to Set the Tone for 2015/16
UPDATE: Thank you for submitting the dozens of slogan ideas received during the last week. We will be sorting through the suggestions and announcing the winning entry next week. Have a great weekend!
ORIGINAL STORY: Imagine this: a big crowd waiting in the darkness at Young Arena. Then lights begin to flash and music rattles your whole body, from the top of your Waterloo Black Hawks hat to the toes of your Waterloo Black Hawks socks. The players begin to step onto the ice and suddenly there – on the huge video scoreboard at center ice – is your phrase, which perfectly describes the thrill of watching hockey in the Cedar Valley.
The Hawks are looking for a slogan for the upcoming 2015/16 hockey season, and one brilliant fan is going to provide it.
“Who would be better to describe the atmosphere at Young Arena than the hockey fans who make it happen?” asked Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. “Giving the fans an opportunity to tell the rest of the community, the USHL, and the entire hockey world who we are will translate into even more enthusiasm at the start of what will be a memorable year.”
From now through Friday, July 31st, entries may be submitted online below. The slogan will be used on the team’s pocket schedule, radio and television commercials, schedule posters, website, and other materials during the season.
The Black Hawks will make sure everyone knows who came up with the winning suggestion, too. In addition to being recognized on waterlooblackhawks.com and the team’s social media pages, the lucky fan will claim his or her own place in Hawks’ Official 2015/16 Player Trading Card Set, a stick signed by the Hawks, a Black Hawks Replica Jersey, and two tickets to the opening game of the season on Saturday, September 26th against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Only one entry per person will be considered for this contest. Submission deadline is noon, on Friday, July 31st. No purchase necessary. Must be 18 or older to participate. All submissions become intellectual property of the Waterloo Black Hawks.
