Waterloo Adds Veteran Goalie

Beydoun Preparing for Third Season

Goaltender Robbie Beydoun has been acquired from the Fargo Force, the Waterloo Black Hawks announced Thursday.

The 19-year-old from Michigan has spent the past two seasons in Fargo and has appeared in 40 United States Hockey League games.  Beydoun’s career record in league play stands at 14-12-1, with a 2.77 goals-against average and 91.2% save percentage.

Near the end of last season, Beydoun was at his best.  From the beginning of February to the end of the year, he was 4-0-0, including two shutouts.  In that span, he trimmed his goals-against mark to 1.15 and boosted his save percentage to 95.7%.  As a USHL rookie, Beydoun made a career-high 41 saves during a 2-1 New Year’s Eve win against the Des Moines Buccaneers.

The Force will receive conditional future considerations in return.

The Black Hawks open the season against Des Moines on Saturday, September 24th.  Waterloo’s home opener is slated for Saturday, October 8th against the Lincoln Stars.
