Karen’s Print Rite presents an update on top performances by former Black Hawks each week with the Alumni Three Stars of the Week feature.
#3 – Eamon McAdam
Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) • Goalie
Last weekend was a good beginning, as McAdam won his first two American Hockey League starts of the season. Saturday, he stopped 26 of 28 shots during a 5-2 win against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The next day, McAdam’s 24 stops during a matchup against the Binghamton Senators yielded a 3-2 overtime decision. Prior to last weekend, McAdam had made one AHL appearance last year. He opened this year with the ECHL’s Missouri Mavericks and had delivered a 91.3% save percentage in six contests.
#2 – Cam Johnson
North Dakota Fighting Hawks (NCAA) • Goalie
Johnson notched back-to-back shutouts, the second and third times this season that he has blanked an opponent. The weekend wins both came on the road against St. Could State. His performances involved 26 and 36 saves Friday and Saturday in respective 4-0 and 3-0 wins. Johnson has been carrying the load for North Dakota this season, appearing in 13 games. His goals-against average and save percentage are both among the top 25 goalies in college hockey.
#1 – Vince Hinostroza
Chicago Blackhawks (NHL) • Forward
Saturday, Hinostroza recorded his first National Hockey League goal and point as Chicago visited Vancouver. He was just getting started. The third period tally made the score 3-2 in favor of the Canucks. Later in the period, he assisted on the game-tying tally which forced overtime. During the extra frame, he set up Marian Hossa’s game-winner. Hinostroza has now appeared in 11 games this season after dressing for seven NHL contests in 2015/16.
