Alumni Three Stars of the Week: November 30th

Karen’s Print Rite presents an update on top performances by former Black Hawks each week with the Alumni Three Stars of the Week feature.

#3 – Tyler Barnes
Rockford IceHogs (AHL) • Forward

When opportunity presented itself last weekend, Barnes pounced on it.  Hosting the Milwaukee Admirals Friday, Barnes gave the IceHogs a lead during a first period power play, then scored late in the second to boost the score to 2-0.  However, Milwaukee rallied and ultimately took the game, 3-2 in a shootout.  Rockford suffered a loss by the same score the following night, but Barnes struck during the third period as part of an effort to rally on the road against the Chicago Wolves.  The goals were his first of the season in the American Hockey League.  Barnes was also +2 for the weekend.

#2 – Justin Kloos
Minnesota Gophers (NCAA) • Forward

The degree of difficulty was certainly high as the Gophers made a Thanksgiving trip to meet Hockey East powers Northeastern and Boston College.  Against the Huskies Friday, Kloos’ hat trick – completed before the midpoint of the second period – went for naught.  Four third period goals gave Northeastern a 6-4 win.  However, Kloos set up a game-tying goal by Tyler Sheehy the next night; Minnesota rallied to score the final three goals of the affair against the Eagles for a 4-2 come-from-behind win.  The Gopher senior captain currently has 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 12 games this year.

#1 – Tony Cameranesi
Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) • Forward

Cameranesi couldn’t have been much more consistent as the Solar Bears met the Brampton Beast for three games, beginning on Thanksgiving night with follow-ups on Saturday and Monday.  Orlando won all three tilts, with Cameranesi contributing a goal and an assist in each.  Saturday and Monday his goals were both game-winners.  Cameranesi was also +1 in each game.  The six-point outburst represents two-thirds of his scoring during 17 games this season.  In addition, three of the six goals Cameranesi has recorded for Orlando in 2016/17 have been decisive.
