Alumni Three Stars of the Week: December 21st

Karen’s Print Rite presents an update on top performances by former Black Hawks each week with the Alumni Three Stars of the Week feature.

#3 – Tony Cameranesi
Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) • Forward

Cameranesi showed his scoring touch during a busy week for the Solar Bears.  Playing in four games, the forward recorded four goals and an assist.  His big night came on Friday against the Kalamazoo Wings as Orlando rolled to a 6-3 victory.  Cameranesi found the net twice during a four-goal first period, including a power play goal which proved to be the winner.  With an assist, it was a three-point game.  Cameranesi also scored in a win against the Wheeling Nailers and during a loss to the Fort Wayne Komets.  He is now up to 19 points in 27 appearances.

#2 – Joe Pavelski
San Jose Sharks (NHL) • Forward

Returning to home ice Tuesday after a long road trip, Pavelski notched two assists during a 4-1 win against the Calgary Flames.  He also scored goals in road appearances against the Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks for four points in a four game span.  The Sharks’ captain turned in a steady +4 plus/minus differential.  He is now just seven points from 600 in his career and 13 goals from 300.  Pavelski’s 30 points in 2016/17 tie with Brent Burns for the most among San Jose skaters.  He is also featured on the cover of January’s USA Hockey Magazine.

#1 – Vince Hinostroza
Chicago Blackhawks (NHL) • Forward

Hinostroza is on the first three-game point streak of his NHL career, having recorded four points since December 17th.  His goal that night on the road against the St. Louis Blues was his first game-winner for Chicago.  He scored again the next night and added an assist against San Jose.  Meeting Ottawa during Chicago’s third game in four days, Hinostroza snagged one more assist.  With all of his scoring coming at even strength, he had a +3 plus/minus mark over the run.  Hinostroza’s opportunity to extend the streak comes Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche.
