Alumni Three Stars of the Week: December 7th

Karen’s Print Rite presents an update on top performances by former Black Hawks each week with the Alumni Three Stars of the Week feature.

#3 – Stephon Williams
Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) • Goalie

Saturday, Williams delivered his first shutout of the season during Bridgeport’s 4-0 win against the Binghamton Senators.  Williams stopped all 37 opposing shots.  It was the highest save total he has ever recorded during an American Hockey League game.  Currently, Williams is 3-7-0 in 10 AHL appearances during 2016/17.  His 2.57 goals-against average and 91 percent save percentage are both improvements on his league totals from 2015/16.

#2 – Blake Winiecki
St. Cloud State Huskies (NCAA) • Forward

Winiecki helped the Huskies to a solid road weekend, which included a win and a tie in conference play against Western Michigan.  During Friday’s 3-0 victory, the junior assisted on the opening goal, then scored one of his own.  Saturday he contributed an assist while St. Cloud State attacked during a five-on-three situation.  The game finished 5-5.  Winiecki is tied for second among Huskies players with 12 points.  His +3 plus/minus differential ties for best among the program’s forwards.

#1 – Tyler Sheehy
Minnesota Gophers (NCAA) • Forward

As Big Ten play opened, Sheehy was at the top of his game.  The Gophers split a home weekend against Ohio State, winning 5-3 on Friday before falling 8-3 on Saturday.  Sheehy scored twice in each game, including the game-winning goal to open the weekend.  Despite the loss Saturday, the sophomore also notched an assist, giving him a hand in all three Gopher scores.  Currently on a six-game point streak, Sheehy has boosted his point total to 20 this year in just 14 appearances.  Leading Minnesota’s offense at this point, Sheehy is ten points shy of matching his total from 2015/16.

Jacob MacDonald, Toledo Walleye (ECHL): 2GP, 1G, 2A, +2, 1 PPG
