Alumni Three Stars of the Week: January 12th

Karen’s Print Rite presents an update on top performances by former Black Hawks each week with the Alumni Three Stars of the Week feature.

#3 – Peter MacArthur
Adirondack Thunder (ECHL) • Forward

MacArthur lifted the Thunder on Tuesday night.  Hosting the rival Elmira Jackals, the veteran recorded a natural hat trick to help his team to a 5-1 win.    MacArthur scored two first period goals and completed the three-goal performance by 1:39 of the second period.  His night included the lone power play conversion for either team.  During the course of more than 100 ECHL games, MacArthur had never previously recorded a hat trick.  The Clifton Park, New York native is currently second on the squad with 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists).

#2 – Brock Boeser
North Dakota Fighting Hawks (NCAA) • Forward

An injury prevented Boeser from being part of the gold medal-winning United States team at the World Junior Championships.  However, he recovered in time to skate with his North Dakota teammates Friday and Saturday against Nebraska-Omaha.  The Fighting Hawks won both games by healthy margins and Boeser was heavily involved, scoring three times and assisting on two other goals.  He had missed the prior six North Dakota contests.  Now through 15 appearances this season, Boeser has 10 goals and 11 assists.

#1 – Joe Pavelski
San Jose Sharks (NHL) • Forward

Since last Wednesday, the San Jose Sharks captain has played in four games and recorded at least one point in all of them.  The week included two third period goals – one of them the game-winner – during a 6-3 Saturday tilt with the Detroit Red Wings.  The second goal was the 600th regular season point of Pavelski’s NHL career.  San Jose finished with a split during the four games.  Pavelski’s individual contributions for the week totaled three goals, two assists, and a +1 plus/minus differential.  He is now one point shy of recording the ninth 40 point season of his NHL career.
