Practice and Train with the Black Hawks at Young Arena
Waterloo, Iowa–As youth hockey season draws toward its conclusion, the Waterloo Black Hawks are inviting young players to participate in an event which will prepare them to work on their skills throughout the summer and have them raring to hit the ice again next fall.
On Thursday, the team announced the details of the 2017 Waterloo Black Hawks Fantasy Hockey Camp for Kids, which will be held at Young Arena on the final two Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March. Registration for mites, squirts and peewees is open now through February 24th.
“The first of these camps was held in 2015, and the feedback was very positive,” said Waterloo Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O’Handley. “Kids have the opportunity to meet the players they watch on Friday and Saturday nights, and our goal is for all of our camp participants to understand and love the game. That will help hockey continue to grow in the Cedar Valley.”
Black Hawks players will administer on- and off-ice skill development and training sessions each evening. The four days of training will be capped with a skating and pizza party for campers on March 29th, with the opportunity for photos and autographs from Black Hawks players. Each participant will also receive a camp jersey and ticket voucher for the Black Hawks April 4th home game against the Chicago Steel.
Only a limited number of registrations will be accepted, and registration will be ended early if the camp reaches capacity. Mite-aged players will take the ice in one group of 40, while squirt and peewee players will be combined into another group of 40. The cost is $225 per participant, which may be divided into three installments of just $75.
