Kids, Critters, and Country

There will be great hockey at Young Arena this weekend when the Waterloo Black Hawks host the Sioux Falls Stampede on Friday and Saturday night.

But the games are just the beginning…

Friday night, kids take over the rink!

From singing the National Anthem to announcing the starting lineup, kids in attendance on Friday will be running the show.  Members of Tommy Hawks’ Kids Club will have a variety of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including the chance to participate in most of Friday’s in-game contests.  Those who are kids at heart are bound to enjoy the fun which ensues.

And there is still time to take advantage of a couple of great deals for youngsters.  Kids age 14 and under can join Tommy Hawks’ Kids Club to receive a t-shirt, participate in a Kids Club party with Black Hawks players, and take advantage of other special opportunities.  To learn more or sign up, click here.  Plus, for the first time ever during the 2016/17 season, the Hawks offered a $99 season ticket for kids age 12 and under.  With more than half of Waterloo’s home schedule still remaining, THIS OFFER IS STILL AVAILABLE.  Call the Hawks at (319) 232-3444 for more details.

Dog Run on Saturday

The fastest, cutest race Young Arena hosts all season happens on Saturday during the Dainty Doggy Dash, presented by Paw Prints Pet Salon and NutriSource Pet Foods.  The fur flies when fully grown dogs 25 pounds or smaller take the ice to benefit the Cedar Bend Humane Society.  There’s still time to register your best canine friend for the event and take advantage of great ticket specials.  For all the details about the Dainty Doggy Dash, click here.

It’s Country Night, Cowboy!

Saturday, you’ll hear your favorite country music when you come to the rink.  K98.5, Continuous Country Favorites and Deringers in Cedar Falls are sponsoring the game, and K98.5 listeners can win tickets all this week by starting their day with Bucky and Brooks in the Morning.  Country fans at the game have the opportunity to win tickets to see Florida Georgia Line.  In addition, Jesup’s own country music artist, Clint Fortier, will be performing live in the Coors Light Cold Zone.
