Pirates, princesses, and superheroes will all be part of the story Sunday at Young Arena.
Many kids are looking ahead to a three-day weekend, and right in the middle of it, the Waterloo Black Hawks are hosting Princess/Superhero Day on Sunday in the midst of a 3:05 visit by the Des Moines Buccaneers.
Kids are encouraged to come to the rink in costume as their favorite caped crusader or delightful damsel. The best dressed heroes and princesses will have the chance to win prizes and be featured on the arena’s video scoreboard during the game. In addition, Princesses Elsa and Anna will be on hand, accompanied by Spiderman.
“Three-day weekends are great, but they are even better when you can do something fun with your family,” said Waterloo Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. “With a 3:05 opening faceoff, this will be a great opportunity for parents and kids to do something together and still make it home with enough of the evening left for a bedtime story.”
It wouldn’t be a family day out without the Black Hawks’ Subway Family Four Pack. For $49, fans will receive four Attack Zone tickets, vouchers for four Subway 6” combos, four chuck-a-pucks, and two One-Timer game programs.
After the game, fans of all ages are invited to meet Black Hawks players during this season’s first free postgame skate. Those who would like to take the ice are encouraged to bring their own skates for the 30 minute session; limited quantities of skates will be available on loan at no charge while supplies last. A portion of the team will sign autographs off the ice for fans who prefer not to skate.
